Ideally located on Lake Orr, the ASPIRE Rowing program provides athletes the opportunity to be involved in a sport otherwise not accessible to other schools. The ASPIRE Rowing program takes part in several weekend based regattas throughout the school calendar year, starting with the Gold Coast Regional All Schools Rowing Association regattas.

The ASPIRE Rowing program is conducted as an extra-curricular activity to allow students to access all academic opportunities available at the college, whist providing students with the opportunity to develop their sporting ability.

Commencing in August 2024, Shisenkan Kisen Dojo is a group that practices traditional Japanese Ninjutsu and Jujutsu and is an is part of the Shisenkan International Kobudo Federation, a traditional Japanese martial art organisation led by Kancho Ron Kosen of the Shisenkan Honbu Dojo, Tokyo, Japan. Kisen Dojo is also a part of Nanzan Dojo based in Brisbane under Shinan Robert Tierney, 6th Dan, Australia’s most senior Shisenkan teacher.  Kisen Dojo is a place to learn and practice Japanese Kobudo (old style martial traditions) under the instruction of Dojo Cho Ryan Solomons (3rd Dan) who has been training in these arts since 2005.

Kobudo training trains both the body and the mind with a focus on continual self-improvement. Classes are for adults and teens of all ages from 16 years of age (earlier on application) and no previous martial arts experience is necessary. Kisen Dojo takes a slightly different approach to delivery of martial arts training based on the student’s age group and abilities so that everyone can both learn and enjoy in a safe but fun and challenging environment.

Collectively, the meandering roadways, abundant green and lake perfectly balance the trade and commerce that’s burgeoning within this pocket of the Gold Coast, making it a superb locale for work or play. What more could you ask for in a suburb?”

Ron Clarke – Gold Coast City Mayor, 2004–2012
